Mobile data solutions are realistically only as good as the level at which they can be utilised, by the people operating them. Like any tool, it can be precise and effective in the trained hand. At Astute, we believe end to end solutions include ensuring the actual people using the solution understand what it all does and how to use the technology to aid them both at work and, if allowed, at play. A mobile email and application solution can be fully locked down using centralised management, if that is what is mandated. However, it can often be a great addition to a user’s personal life too, with access to the internet, business class mobile email, and the ability to add separate personal email, if permitted, usually by company policy (and enforceable in the solution). Many companies, large and small, allow their employees with BlackBerry’s or PDA’s to benefit from social access from our devices outside of working hours.

Learning how to drive a BlackBerry® device is not complex as the device is intuitive in use and functions are well laid out and can be personalised.

Applications, both standard and custom can have an equally simple look and feel. With the base level device and its use for business email, intranet and web access, plus any Applications installed for your business, we will always take time to run through an appropriate level of tutoring. This will be adjusted to suit the level required, whether that is key people, Executives, in-house training personnel or indeed IT teams or individuals. Often we spend a considerable level of time with the IT department, as they will be a first point of contact. We completely unravel the full dynamics and detail of how the systems and solutions work with the IT staff on their network, through to the wide area internet connectivity and all the way to the end users device.

We can train key staff on a one on one basis, often the most effective. In groups we can train using our camera based system allowing display on widescreen or projector to a group or full class environment.

Training on any technology is a pre requisite. It leads to frustrated users or an increased support workload. Without including training you have missed a component in the solution.

We are now never surprised to hear any long term user of mobile devices that they know how to perform a few functions and they never dare touch the rest. That is an environment that can and should be changed, whether that user is a self confessed technophobe or a current support headache.
